Eli-
Do you have any plans to use Angelo Badalamenti (hope I'm spelling that right) in any of your upcoming movies? The entire score was great, but the "finger-band misfire" was just so beautiful and depressing and creepy all at once. It really added to the overall effect of the movie. I would love to hear more from him. Anything more by David Hess would be great to.
The music was one of my favorite things about Cabin Fever. I was really impressed by how you steered away from the typical rock or pop score that is in so many horrors today, and used music that actually heightened the emotion of the movie instead of detracting from it.

Hello Eli for this thread too, I wrote something towards the tail end on the other, but I wrote to Fango and I said it was great that they included you in the lot of weirdos in the top 13! they didn't print the letter though. Well anyways if you did go remake crazy what would you like to remake? How about My Bloody Valentine?? Just wanted to have something on here too for recognition

Eli, hey I have alot of things I'd like to say to you. First of all thanks for 'Cabin Fever' I can't wait for part two. I heard you weren't writing part two which seems like a mistake. I hope you end up directing and writing Cabin Fever two or it just won't be the same. I hope you do a kickass job at remaking 'The Bad Seed' I hope all of your movies are as great as Cabin Fever, which I'm sure they will be. When is that movie '2001 Maniacs' going to be released in theatres? I just want to say I'm 15 years old and I hope to be a horror director sometime in the near future. I don't think it will be to great, but some friends and I are trying to write a script. The movie is called 'Beneath the Cannibal's Cabin' Its about kids going to a cabin that is supposed to be abandoned. The cannibal that lives their returns but some of the bodies he put in the basement are starting to come alive. so maybe the kids and the cannibal tema up for some of the movie, but it doesnt work out and Its cannibal vs kids vs zombies. It sounds like a good idea to me. If you like that idea make something like it. You don't even have to put my name on it. Just seeing another Eli Roth film would be cool. I heard that cool motherfucker Rider Strong was going to be in a 'Deliverance' type movie called 'Mojave' It seems like it will be good. Do you know anything about it? Anyways, I just want to tell you, you are a big influence on me. And I thank you for bringing back old school horror. I am like the only person my age who actually likes the 70's and 80's shit. Everyone likes this trendy new garbage. I was just wondering are you planning on ending with Cabin Fever 2? That would be cool, but however it needs to end. Just don't end up with like Cabin Fever Vs The Evil Dead. Have you ever thought about you and Rob Zombie teaming up and writing some kickass 70's type flick. I dont know if that would be a good idea, but I was just wondering. Well, I'm going to go. Talk to you later, hopefully.

Hey Eli, I don't know how I stumbled on to this website, but I'm glad I did. Anyways, not sure if you remember me, but we hung out at the Fangoria Convention in NJ with John Fallon, JoBlo and my friends Sara and Jenny. Anyways, just thought I'd write, seeing as though I'm waiting for Sara and Jenny to pick me up right now b/c we're on our way to the Monster Mania Convention this weekend in NJ (again). Hope we have as good of a time as the last one we were at. (Although I'm not sure how many "Mass-holes" will be there). Ok, just wanted to say HI. Got to go! Taryn

Hi Everyone, Glad to see the discussions are still going 1 year later. That's really, really cool! And keeping the interest up always helps get the sequel moving faster, so thank you! Okay, buncha things... We are in the theaters in France. The film's doing quite well over there, and if you want to see something really funny, watch the trailer in French! www.metrofilms.com/cabinfever/Randy Pearlstein is working on the sequel right now. I had my own story idea, but I actually like Randy's much better, and the goal here is truly to make a film that surpasses the first one. I will always love "Cabin Fever," but we don't want to repeat ourselves, and are much more interesting in coming up with a story that nobody will expect but that will be in the spirit of the first one. And what's a "Cabin Fever" film without Deputy Winston? Come on, there's a reason I didn't kill him off... SAM - The cannibal movie sounds great! I can't wait to see it one day. B.MONKEY - I passed on the MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake. I get calls about every single remake that's happening, and the only one I'm going to do is THE BAD SEED, because it's going to be so vastly different from the first one. KRUG - I am not against remakes so long as they're good movies. I'm all for it. Without remakes we wouldn't have the Hammer horror films, nor would we have Carpenter's THE THING, Kaufman's INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, or Russell's THE BLOB. I love all those movies - they took the seed idea and did something great with it. Remakes like PSYCHO are pointless. I have always said that there needs to be a variety of horror. I don't want just remakes or PG-13 "safe" films. We need violent R rated films, and we need big budget films as well as low budget ones. I hate bad sequels, but if someone makes a great sequel, then I'm fine with it. I haven't seen the new EXORCIST, but I will definitely see the 28 DAYS LATER sequel. COLETTE - I would LOVE to work with Angelo again. I love his music in that film. I had tears in my eyes when I first heard that love theme, and I listen to Deputy Winston's theme all the time. I had such a great experience working with Angelo Badalamenti, Nate Barr and David Hess that I'd be thrilled to work with any of them again. In fact, Nate's scoring 2001 MANIACS which I'm a producer on, so the music's going to kick ass! CF - Now that the Kill Bill DVDs did so well when Part 2 opens, everyone is high on the idea of releasing the CF Director's Cut DVD a week before CF2 hits theaters, which will be sometime late in 2005, probably the fall. Now these things ALWAYS change, and it was my idea to hold off releasing the director's cut until like 10 years from now, but alas, these are not my decisions. I'm just happy they are doing it at all. It has not been officially announced or put into production, but they're all excited about it. I'll let you know when the process officially begins. LIBRA - Did you find those crazy posters? Those are insane! I love that somehow it got crossed with Jessica Biel in the TCM remake. TARYN - I totally remember you. That Fango con was really fun. I was too exhausted to hang out with you all until the wee hours, but Arrow said you guys had a good time. When are you coming to a horror con out west??? And you should all go see SHAUN OF THE DEAD opening night! It's the most fun zombie movie since DEAD ALIVE. It rules! Keep the questions coming... Eli

Hey Eli, Thanks for clearing up your position on the remake situation, I totally agree with you. BTW, I saw Shaun of the Dead a few months ago and absolutely loved it, and I agree on it being the most fun since Braindead (I sooo love that movie, especially since it was made in my area...New Zealand YAY).
Can I get... any of you cunts... a drink?
There is no "I" in "team", but there is an "I" in "pie".
So have started working on the Scavenger Hunt at all? Script or crew? Are you looking at any particular actors yet? Im wondering if you could you tell us about some of your experiences as part of "The Hunt" that took place at Newton South? I actually saw an episode of Oprah (Dont know why the hell I watched that) about "The Hunt"at your old High School, so I got interested.
If you dont wanna answer that lol, when can we expect a Rotten Fruit DVD?
Cheers Eli...
