Hi Guys, Glad to see you are all active on the boards. And with regards to questions, feel free to ask me whatever. This particular thread is for people who want to ask me whatever they want. I'm not saying I'll always respond, but it never hurts to ask... ;D Okay, some answers... TARYN - You are on for that date next time I'm back east. MR. STITCH - You can't go wrong with ICHI THE KILLER or AUDITION. A. JESUS - I definitely want CF2 to match the first one in tone, I just don't want to repeat the same story or the same scares. GIVEITTOMEELI - You have the best name ever. And I love the photo! With regards to the research you and Morphine are doing, only you can answer that question. I did a lot of factual research for CF about different skin diseases so I knew the rate at which it would progress and how people could pass it to each other. I didn't want to make it 100% accurate, but I did want it all based on medical fact. Only you can tell when you're ready to start writing. There's no such thing as a correct amount of research. If you find yourself trying to write a scene and you don't know what would happen if you yourself were in that situation, or how the mechanics of something work, then you haven't done your research. If you find yourself spending all your time just collecting facts that you already know or ones that are not pertinent to your story, then you're probably just procrastinating. Either way, writing my name in lipstick on your friend's breasts is a fantastic use of your time. Next time I'm in Australia I will be sure bring a camera... Everyone check out VH-1 this weekend, I think I'm going to be on BEST WEEK EVER. I say "think" because they filmed me today but who the hell knows they can always cut me out. I said really off color and offensive things, but it was all in good fun. Oh - The Rotten Fruit DVD. I got sidetracked with "The Bad Seed" and some other projects so I put it on hold, but I will get back to finishing it this month. Please be patient, I can only do 80 things at once and I have about 200 on my plate... thanks everyone... Eli PS - GO SEE "SHAUN OF THE DEAD!!!!!"

Hey Eli!
I don't know if you remember me...I contacted you a while back and sent my pics and resume. I've been in contact with Jed Strahm since then - Great guy! and I was wondering if you had the chance to look at them?
I saw Shaun of the dead and it was hilarious...great! It was filmed quite close to where I live....unfortunately I didn't get to see any of the filming.
I recently bought a movie called Cheerleader Camp (aka bloody pom poms) have you seen it?
Hope you are well
Take Care
Kelly

Dearest Eli, do you know where my name comes from?[glow=red,2,300]Even know you have never met me in my life please think of me when it comes to whatever you are doing next, I need to find an internship, well I can find one, but I'd like to find one doing something that I actually would care to do. Im a Fashion Merchandising major and have minors in Business and Theatre. Before you roll your eyes did you know that Joel Schumacher who directed the Lost Boys was knee deep in fashion too? I'm quite the savvy one with horror movies and love trivia and such about them or if you can use me, how about Troma, how could I get in touch with them I know you did a commentary for them once. I can help out with the costume crew or even make up crew, I have done some good work and can provide pictures, if you are interested just PM me here or email me (AlabamaWorley@gmail.com)[/glow] I have a Cabin Fever question...the store, is it anything to do with the store in the movie "Mother's Day"? I just had the feeling that it did. And also I feel like I am the only person in the world who has seen these 2 movies, have you seen them..."Hide and Go Shriek" and "Just Before Dawn"? Ginny.........pssst that picture of the bird is me! I did that in makeup class

I'm an aspiring film maker and make up effects artist, I am working at a bakery at the moment to save up to do a course in make up effects and then move on to get my diploma after having cert 3 and 4 in entertainment make up. I just wanted to know if you had any advice on how to try to sport round a folio so film makers could see it?, Or yeah or just any advice at all with make up effects.

Eli, Thank you so much, you are such a huge influence. I am 17 years old and have been directing horror films for about 4 years. Recently this summer I directed a movie called "The Deep Nowhere" which Cabin Fever was a great influence on. For the past two months my friends and I were writing and just finished planning our movie that we are going to shoot next saturday called "Abandoned Paranoia". I love horror films and have seen very, very many. Out of all that I have seen and love, Cabin Fever is my favorite film of all time. And out of all the directors that I like your my favorite director. Even though this is your first film you've directed, you are my favorite director. The amazing context and contrast of the movie is so amazing. I admire so much at all the hard work you went through to get this movie made, which I hope to accomplish some day. I am looking very forward to seeing your projects in the future. I loved watching the making of Cabin Fever and listening to the commentary about getting this movie made, and you seem like such a down to earth guy. Thanks for everyting.

Dear Eli, My name is Skipper and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Since I was a little kid, I've loved all kinds of movies, and since I was about 12, I have put that love into making short movies of my own. As a junior in high school, I have decided to go to NYU and study film in order to pursue a career as a film director after college. When I first saw Cabin Fever (which was sadly not in theaters, but the first day it came out on DVD), I immediately loved it as a remedy to all this crap coming out these days (TCM remake anyone?). And after listening to each commentary track AT LEAST five times, I've decided to post on this board. I know you've got a lot of these messages to read, and I know you've got tons of other admirers (and maybe even a few stalkers), but I was hoping that there could be some way that we could talk one on one with each other. You could tell me all about NYU and Tisch, how to establish and maintain connections, and basically how it goes to not make a film until ten years after you've left college. I'm in desperate need of some advice, as my school doesn't even have a single film class, leaving me to try and do this all on my own. Your film has been a huge inspiration in my life, and I hope that you can find some way to talk with me about your career. Believe me, I'm not trying to be an Eli Roth groupie, I just want some advice from someone that automatically doesn't think I can do it (i.e. my parents). Keep making great films, and I look forward to The Box from you and Richard Kelly.
Sincerely, Allan "Skipper" L.
P.S. - If you need someone to help on the set of CF2 during next summer, I'd happily do it for no money!

Eli,
Is it possible to mention names that will most likely return for the CF sequel? [cough]Winston[cough]
Furthermore, is it your story that is being written into a script by someone else? Or...
There might have been others asking this already but laziness prevailed.

100 Scariest Moments...pretty cool, nice to see something like 'Alice Sweet Alice' included but man some movies just disappear don't they, and that sucks. I haven't seen the top 14 yet, but I don't think they'll include stuff like that crazy ass scene finger scene in 'The Burning' or anything from 'Tourist Trap' or ummm hmmm for that matter...Cabin Fever, man that sucks, hopefully there is a scene in the top 14 of them..........like they can include the haircut from 'Single White Female' and oh OK I'll stop.....Eli you rock You rock!

Hey Everyone, The Bravo special on horror got such insanely high ratings they're re-running it this weekend - check it out! Also I've been a regular on "Best Week Ever" on VH1 if you happen to catch that this weekend, I'll be on. Okay, some answers... SKIP - I had a great experience at NYU. But if you're not willing to wait it out 10 years to make your first film then you may not have what it takes to be a director. More than talent and discipline it's patience and endurance, and you should never put a time limit on reaching your dreams, just keep working hard. I made connections by working for free whenever I was at NYU and then after I graduated. I was a P.A. and worked on tons of movies. I started at the bottom and learned what I could and worked my way up. Good luck! Keep at it. CABINFEVER - Ain't nothing for sure in CF2. Many surprises. BLACKFOREST - There's a book called the Hollywood Creative Directory. It lists every production company. Sending your portfolio to the horror companies is a good start. Also go to conventions and network with filmmakers. MR. STITCH - Saw was so much fucking fun. I love the guys who made it, James and Leigh, and I met them a year ago in Australia when I was promoting CF. I am so happy for their success. There are pics of me with James on www.wireimage.com, if you type my name into the search. B.MONKEY- Mother's Day is one of my all time favorites. I love that film so damn much that we watched it at my Bar Mitzvah, since I wasn't friends with enough girls to have a dance. And I was sawed in half with a chainsaw. I'm not kidding. KELLY - Got the pix, love 'em, thank you! SUNSHINE - Randy Pearlstein, my co-writer on CF is writing CF2. He's a great writer, it's going to kick ass. COLETTE - Glad you enjoyed Bravo! I was really honored to be a part of it. Thanks for the buzz everyone! There are a few articles floating around on 2001 MANIACS on www.dreadcentral.com and www.fangoria.com. On Fangoria there's a great Dennis pic - check it out! Eli

Dang, just missed your reply, should have asked a few days ago.
Anyways, just have a quick question about the dvd. I love the commentaries on it, excellent job from everyone. James DeBello was a riot. I was just wondering why Rider Strong didn't have a part in any of it. Was he in it for just a small segment and I missed it or something? Seeing as he was the main character in the film I was really looking foward to hearing what he had to say about playing the role, kind of a let down to me. =\
Thanks, Jake
